Sea Caves (Cape Greco – near Ayia Napa) – visitors sailing by coastal areas just outside of Ayia Napa will notice a chain of sea caves. A stone bridge is also in this area. Their unique appearance is a result of the sea waves crashing into the cliffs and creating the inlets, caves and archways that we see today. The Ayia Napa Sea caves are signposted on the main road between Protaras and Ayia Napa, and a small dirt track takes you down towards the coast. Visitors can climb down the rocks, or take a plunge into the Mediterranean Sea from the cliffs above. This latter option is usually reasonably safe as the water is deep — however, you must seek out local advice at the time, and do not do this if you at all worried or a poor swimmer.
